Elmdor® Fire Rated Access Doors (24in x 24in, FRC Series) are specifically designed for reliability and safety in mind. The FRC Series doors feature a robust 16-gauge galvannealed steel frame with a prime coat finish, accompanied by masonry anchors and bolt holes for secure installation.

The Access Door itself is meticulously crafted from 20-gauge galvannealed steel with a prime coat finish, offering durability and aesthetic appeal. During installation, it is recommended to fill the doors with 2-inch thick, fire-rated insulation and employ a welded pan type configuration for added resilience (see local Building Codes and Ordinances for required installation practices). 

Functionality is a priority with features such as a spring automatic closer, self-latching mechanism, and an interior latch release for user convenience. The exterior latching is recessed and incorporates a universal self-latching bolt, available in either a Knurled Knob (Standard) or Flush Key (Special Order) operation.

The FRC Series access doors have undergone rigorous testing, receiving Underwriters Laboratories' 1-1/2-hour "B" label rating for walls and Warnock Hersey's 3-hour rating for ceilings and 2-hour rating for walls. Additionally, they meet CAN/ULC S104 standards with a 2-hour fire rating for walls.

Designed for use in fire-rated walls and ceilings, FRC Series Doors ensure positive latching with heavy-duty spring closures. An interior latch release is a thoughtful inclusion, allowing unlocking from inside for added safety and accessibility.
